Supporting Email Address Internationalization
Abstract
Is your email-server able to receive and send messages using email addresses in local languages? Using the latest standards related to domain names and email addresses, it is now possible to have email addresses entirely in users’ local languages and scripts, e.g. in Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Greek, etc., called Email Address Internationalization (EAI). This technical session will introduce the types of internationalized email addresses which can be formed and focus on how to configure email tools and services to support such email addresses. Further, the session will provide an analysis of the extent some popular email tools and services support EAI and highlight relevant considerations for deploying EAI solutions.
